Safe Surf'n
stay safe on the internet
The Internet is a pretty cool place to learn lots of good things ... but it is also a 'grown-ups' place. Just like when we ride our bikes, go to the beach or go to the shops we also need to be careful when we go on the Internet. So here are a few good ideas to keep safe while having fun and learning cool stuff on the Internet.
| 1 | Never go online without your parent's permission | 2 | Never give out your real name, address, phone number or school name (or anyone else's) without your parent's permission | Get your parents to put some Internet filtering software on your home computer ... to make sure the Internet is a safe and fun place for you | 3 | |||||
| 4 | Don't tell anyone your password ... not even your best friend | Remember ... not everything you read or see on the Internet is true! | 5 | 6 | Don't open emails from people you don't know | |||||
| If someone writes something rude, or something you don't like, DON'T write back but DO tell your parents or another adult you trust | 7 | 8 | Don't go to chat rooms without your parent's permission. Never chat with someone you don't know and never EVER agree to meet someone in person that you met on a chat site | Never use rude language or say mean or unkind things about other people in emails or on the Internet | 9 |
